East Central Energy

Federated Rural Electric
Federated Rural Electric is a distribution electric utility serving member-owners in Jackson and Martin Counties with some along the bordering counties and in Huntington, Iowa. Federated is headquartered in Jackson with a warehouse in Welcome. They serve more than 5,000 members and own 598 miles of underground lines and 1,588 miles of overhead lines. Federated receives wholesale power from: Great River Energy, Western Area Power Administration and L&O/Basin Electric Power Cooperative. They belong to the nationwide network of cooperatives known as Touchstone Energy Partners. Great River Energy
Great River Energy is a not-for-profit electric cooperative owned by 28 electric distribution cooperatives. Collectively, they serve approximately 665,000 members in Minnesota. As a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, Great River Energy is part of a nationwide alliance made of more than 750 electric cooperatives in 46 states. GRE generates electricity and transmits it from power plants to substations for distribution through local Energy Cooperative lines.

Itasca-Mantrap Cooperative Electrical Association
Itasca-Mantrap Cooperative Electrical Association is an electrical distribution cooperative located in Park Rapids, MN. The cooperative provides electrical and related services to more than 9,700 members in Hubbard, Becker, Cass, Clearwater and Wadena Counties. Distribution companies like Itasca-Mantrap do not work in the production of energy, but rather get it from the source to the customer.

Lake Country Power
Lake Country Power serves parts of eight counties in Aitkin, Carlton, Cass, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, Pine and St. Louis. LCP provides electricity and other energy related services to nearly 43,000 members in the rural parts of northern Minnesota. They maintain more than 8,100 miles of distribution lines within 10,872 square miles of service territory. Geographically, LCP is Minnesota's largest electric cooperative with service centers in Grand Rapids, Kettle River and Mountain Iron. Their five outpost facilities are strategically located throughout service areas in Cook, Ely, McGregor, Remer and Saginaw. LREC membership is a mix of residential; commercial and industrial; and seasonal homes. They average 4.6 members per mile in our 3,200 square mile service territory and own and maintain 5,600 miles of line. MVEC provides electric service to 40,450+ members in an 968-square-mile service area, covering portions of nine counties: Blue Earth, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Le Sueur, Rice, Scott, Sibley, and Waseca. Red Lake Electric Cooperative is one of the Minnkota Power Systems serving Marshall, Pennington, Red Lake, Polk counties and the area served by the Red Lake Electric Cooperative on the lands of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa in northwestern Minnesota. Their headquarters are located in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. Distribution companies like RLEC do not work in the production of energy, but rather get it from the source to the customer.

Red River Valley Cooperative Power Association
Red River Valley Cooperative Power Association has been delivering reliable electric energy to its member-owners since 1939 using technology and innovative services to meet the needs of agricultural, commercial and residential members alike. The power comes from a mix of coal, water and wind, balancing affordable power with Red River Valley Co-op Power's environmental goals. Consumers receive one of the higher amounts of renewable energy in the nation. Stearns Electric Association has provides electricity and related products and services to nearly 25,000 members in six Central Minnesota counties including Stearns, Todd, Morrison, Kandiyohi, Pope and Douglas. Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric

Tri-County Electric Cooperative
Tri-County Electric Cooperative is a member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving three counties in Minnesota including Winona, Houston and Fillmore and parts of Olmsted and Mower counties. TEC also serves portions of Howard, Winneshiek and Allamakee counties in Iowa. TEC has about 13,000 electrical services. TEC was founded in 1936 when power was not available to rural residents. Local citizens banded together to build lines going out to their homes and farms. Distribution companies like TEC do not work in the production of energy, but rather getting it from the source to the customer.

Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association
Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association is a member-owned, non-profit electric utility founded in 1937. Headquartered in Rockford, Minn., Wright-Hennepin is one of the state's largest member-owned electric utilities and distributes electricity to more than 46,000 homes, businesses and farms.

Xcel Energy
Xcel Energy is a major U.S. electric and natural gas company based in Minneapolis, MN. Xcel Energy has regulated operations in eight states (Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin), and provides a comprehensive portfolio of energy-related products and services to approximately 3.5 million electricity customers and 2 million natural gas customers through four operating companies.
